Fiber Content: 100% Extrafine Merino wool
Weight/Yardage: 50g/135 yds
Yarn Weight: DK
Knitting Gauge: 22 st = 4" on US 5
Suggested Needles: US 4-6
Suggested Hooks: F-H
Care: This is extrafine merino, so it should be machine washable. However, it behaves just like other extrafine merinos. It will stretch out in washing (finer fiber ends mean it doesn't grab onto itself as well as other wool to keep its shape) and fuzz in the dryer. We're running tests on how best to machine wash this yarn. In the meantime, we suggest a careful handwash and drying flat to promote the longevity and consistency of finished objects.
Made in: Italy
This is a sneak peek from our Fall/Winter 2012 line. This is the only product we order from this producer, and this is the only producer from whom we buy merino. The producer is consistent and capable. Every ball feels the same, and every color feels the same. The fiber is soft, and the twist is perfect. The yarn weights they have created happen to be US standard weights (it's a miracle!), and the price is right. Hands-down, they make the best merino we've ever seen, so we work with them to make this product. We will have new colors for Fall/Winter 2012, but these are the wonderful colors we brought back from Italy. This stuff is the bomb. Everyone who has touched it has immediately smooshed it against their face or neck and smiled. Innamorata means "the loved woman," and this is definitely the yarn we love. We have named each color after a woman who has been helpful to the growth of our company.
