Note from the Yarnie:
Piuma (which means "feather") is, hands-down, the favorite of the new shipment from Italy. Check out this fiber blend: 45% Wool, 15% Camel, 10% Silk, and 5% Cashmere fibers blended together and spun with air around a nylon core that makes up 25% of the yarn. There is an internal shimmer from the center of the yarn from the nylon and silk, and the other fibers just cling to the core like a cloud. OH. MY. GOODNESS. It's like knitting with a cloud, yet the yarn has enough substance that it doesn't shed.
I took some samples into my local yarn shop, and the first three people who came in the shop picked a ball up from the table and asked for the price on the yarn. It is that fabulous. Plus, the yardage is ridiculous. Each 50g ball knits up like a worsted weight yarn on size 7 - 8 needles with 142 yards per ball. Wow!
